LIFESTYLE Essentials for Autumn/Winter

Candles- @home

Hello hello lovelies!

As you ALREADY know I’m sure, this is the second (and final) part of the Winter Essentials blog series that I did, to show you some of my favourite Autumn and Winter Essentials! If you haven’t read the Beauty Essentials blog post, click here.

This is the lifestyle edition of my Winter Essentials! Mostly clothing items, or things I love to have around my house in the Winter time, and the first ones are CANDLES.

Everyone who knows me and has been into my house, knows my LOVE of candles. Especially in Autumn/Winter. Nothing beats the scent of walking into a house that smells like cinnamon and honey glaze, for instance, burning from a candle. I love the Yankee Candles, Carlotte Rys (South African brand) and the @Home candles! Win!! 🙂

If you follow my blog you are well aware of the fact that I love to read. If you aren’t there is a blog post all about my reading and some of my favourite authors here. Reading for me is an escapism, a brief detachment from the world, my world and helps me get away from it all for a while. I know that I seem to read a lot more in winter because obviously more time is spent indoors, in bed next to a fireplace or heater with a nice hot cup of tea… etc. Just picture the scene right…? So for me, another winter essential is a good book. 🙂

I recently started reading “A Little Life” for Hanya Yanagihara and I have head and listened to all the reviews on this book, as much as it is a best seller, it is also a book with heavy and difficult subject matter, as well as trigger events that might be too much for some people. Solidering through it, its 720 pages long, so it might take me a while, lol!

Autumn/Winter for me means darker clothes, blue, black and greys, and boots and lots of layering!! I get cold VERY easily and honestly, I don’t play games when it comes to winter.! I wear a LOT of clothes, and I dont mind… even 3 pairs of socks at one go, I dont mind!

One thing I love is a good coat or long jersey…IMG_0107

I love Jerseys like this. I pulled some out of my wardrobe so I could show you. This jersey is from Witchery, which you can find at selected Woolworths stores. I LOVE how versatile this piece is. You can wear it with a white or black Turtle Neck underneath, a pair of jeans and good boots, and just accessorize silver jewelry. Cant go wrong!

Camel coat anyone??! Hell yes!! Now my love for this coat, is UNREAL. From Ted Baker, I got this coat as a gift, but nothing beats a beautifully cut coat in winter! Imagine it, with a white turtle neck, blue jeans and brown leather boots! Whoooop can I get an AMEN?!?!?! 🙂

Windbreakers are STAPLE, HOLY grail for me in winter. I love this one, and even though its not THAT cold yet, I’ve already worn it a coupla times on the rainy days… LOVE! This one I got from “Olk Khaki” and comes in blue, white and black… Love the gold zip detailing! Win!!

A layer piece thats always great to have, is a scarf. Especially in Winter. My neck tends to get REALLY cold in Winter, and it makes me VERY uncomfortable, so I ALWAYS ALWAYS wear scarves. I have them in blues, browns, black, white, and they are great as an add on to an outfit! Jazz it up a little!

I LOVE boots in the winter! Ok, who doesn’t right?! In winter I am strict and HEAVY on the boot game… Whether flat, or heeled, I love boots in winter.

Thats some of my winter essentials! Tell me, what is it that you cant live without in Winter?? 🙂 Let me know!

Thats it for the winter essentials segment,

    1. Absolutely!!! 🙂 Thank you! That coat is one of my favourite winter pieces! Scarves can always ‘chill out’ an outfit, but also have the power to glam it up too! 🙂
