So I thought I should do a 2 part segment of some of my favourite Beauty and Lifestyle Winter Essentials during the winter time. Seeing as we are approaching winter, and now in Autumn, I wanted to do a post on some of my favourite winter BEAUTY essentials.
I love Winter! I am a Winter baby, my birthday is in June, so you can imagine, I get
along MUCH better with the cold, then with the heat! I always say that it’s easier to layer up, when cold, but much harder to cool off when hot! Feel me??
As much as I LOVE winter, it reeks HAVOC on my skin, so I wanted to show you some of the skincare bits I love in winter, and then finish off with some of my favourite beauty bits! (I never forget the beauty lovers, lol!)
Lets get started shall we?!
In Winter my skin normally goes VERY dry. My face doesn’t take kindly to the cold air and reacts badly- fdryness, irritation, tight painful and itchy skin…! 😦
I have however found miracle products that have made winter SLIGHLTY more bearable and my skin loves them!!
(Click on the product name for link to site)
This product right here s a miracle product for my skin in winter. Normally in winter I skin my skin routine to the Clarins HydraQuench range, and I have been using this range for over two years now, and my skin has THANKED me! The intensive serum is fantastic at replenishing the skin, and hydrating it with moisture. The serum is a mix of almost a gel and liquid consistency, so you must shake it before using it so it bonds well. It is great for dry and dehydrated skin and helps the skin restore is natural hydration. I LOVE it, and use it every evening after toner, and before moisturizer. (Available at any Clarins counter at any retail store, Woolworths, Edgars, Stuttafords stores).
Another beauty I can’t go without! From the same family, the HydraQuench cream, helps seal in moisture, and also restore’s the skins natural moisture reserves. A great product for dry dehydrated skin, my skin LOVES this combo of these two babies in winter! They are amazing!
This is honestly, a MIRACLE product. On the days where my skin is dry and sensitive, irritated and itchy, I skip everything that follows after toning my skin, and I head STRAIGHT TO THIS! A pure BEAUTY, this product loves me, and I thank it for that! 🙂 They say its an oil, however it does not feel like one in it’s texture. It’s a lot lighter than an oil, so I like to refer to it as an essence. A great source of moisture replenishing from this product, and really does the trick overnight. You wake up with softer skin, and less irritated face.I only use it once or twice a week, but it does the job well especially when my skin is irritated. (Availabled at the Kiehl’s store, or Kiehl’s counters in selected Edgars stores)
You can’t tell me I’m the only one who suffers from dry lips in winter???! I know you’d be lying! LOL. Most of the lipsticks I wear in winter, are MATTE lipsticks. Imagine, matte lips in the cold air….! It reeks chaos on my lips!! No lie. These I my FAVOURITE lip conditioning treatments that I apply onto my lips every morning and night, and all day on the days I’m not wearing lipsticks. They help my skin repair from drying out, chapped and cracked lips. (Both available at Dischem, Clicks, and many other retail stores).
I love Mac lipsticks! (I’m sure you already know, I mean, I don’t shut up about them! lol). However, these 3 colours DO IT for me in the Winter Time (Whirl, Sin, Stone) are great colours, which normally go so well with the dark clothes that I wear in the winter time!
One of my favourite winter time scents, along with Miss Dior, is this one pictured above. Gucci Guilty black is one of the few scents I find very sexy and seductive, heavy musky scents, great for an everyday Winter signature scent. 🙂 Amber is one of the scents in it, making it perfect as an evening scent, and autumn/winter scent. ❤ Love this one!
In winter, I tend to stay away from the bright colours on my nails. I wear lots of black, grey and navy in the winter (which I will be showing you in my lifestyle winter essentials), and I prefer muted colours, or nude ones on my nails. If not black, or white. The ones which I always tend to go for from Essie are (brownie points, sand tropez, take it outside) and The revlon Colourstay Gel Envy, i LOVE “Hold Em) as a winter colour! They have many colours and colour ranges, you should definitely check these brands out!
Obviously there is a lot more beauty stuff I love in winter, however for fear of making this post TOO long, I will leave it here! I hope you enjoyed this one!
What are your beauty essentials for the Winter Time? 🙂 Let me know!
Til the next one,
Live in Light and Love ❤
