MY Mottos to live by…

Ever think about how when you have a mantra, or motto that you live by, or you build your life around, it becomes a good way to remind you to keep yourself grounded. Not only that, if becomes a good guide and reminder of how to live your life, and what you need to do in order to achieve the goals you want.

I often have quotes written all over my notebooks, whether at home or work, and in the “Notes” folder of my phone, I keep a section of quotes that I look at from time to time when I need reminding…

Notepad 2

Five MOTTOS I never forget to remind myself of:

  • “Work Hard, Stay Humble”

I learnt this one from my father. He is one of the most humble people I know. When you want to get anything done, put time and effort into it, work hard, and stay humble. Once people reach a certain place in their success story, humility becomes a difficult trait to keep. I commend and am inspired by the people who still manage to achieve so much, but stay humble.

Remind yourself, keep going, work hard, and remain humble through all of it.

  • “Don’t worry, just breathe, and if its meant to be it’ll find it’s way”

This one is tooo true! Often when we are under pressure, with work, deadlines,  things that have to be produced immediately, the struggle becomes so real, that we end up losing sight of the fact that, what is MEANT to happen, WILL happen.

Whatever you are going through, you will get through it, and you will find your way. In the meantime time, long deep breaths. Just BREATHE.

  • “Never regret something that made you smile”

This is true. Take a case where you break up with your boyfriend/girlfriend. Often, we like to make comments like “I wish it didn’t happen”, when the truth is, that person once was the best thing in your life. How do you regret what once made you so happy?

Remember that moment, remember it for what it was, and what it meant to you- THEN, and move on. However, do not regret it. Life is too short to live in regret. 🙂

  • “Happiness is only real, when shared”

Nothing is more true than this. Ever notice how much more happier you are when you share that happy moment with someone else? Like travelling, or going out, or receiving an award at a ceremony?

It always MEANS so much more to you, and makes you THAT much happier, when you are surrounded by the ones you love. So, make memories, and share all your happy moments with those you love. 🙂

  • “Dont let the behaviour of others destroy your inner peace”- Dalai Lama

This one is one quote among MANY others that I love and value, purely because of the truth in it. How someone feels, or acts towards you, has nothing to do with you- therefore you cannot let that person hold so much power over your mind and heart, by letting them unsettle your “inner peace”.

Learn to detach yourself from the actions of others towards you. Everything has a place and time and for every action there is a REACTION. Just never give anyone the power to unnerve you.

Motto 1

Motto 2 Motto 3

In the end… have a set of mottos to help “pick you up” when you’ve had a bad day… A set of mottos to ensure that you keep focused, and stay on the correct path. They guide our paths, and remind us of how capable we are, how strong we are and how much we can do:)

Until the next one,

Live in Light and Love ❤
